The study, first published in the 1994 fall edition of Post Abortion Review, said fully 20% reported having a subsequent nervous breakdown, with 10% requiring hospitalization for psychiatric care; 61% said abortion made their lives worse, and 6% said abortion improved their lives. Only 31% felt “reconciled” with their abortion.
