On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King uttered words that gave hope of a great emancipation. An emancipation from enslavement, oppression, intimidation, injustice, and humiliation that had existed in America for some 300 years against a portion of the American population.

I quote a line from that speech: “My dungeon shook and my chains fell off. Thank God Almighty, I’m free at last. For I never felt such a love before. Thank God Almighty, I’m free at last.”
