Barna Research Group, after interviewing 900 unchurched people about how they wanted to be treated when visiting a church, found that the worst thing to do was to identify the visitors during a service and ask them to wear name tags. Personal greetings by members and ushers were appreciated. A phone call the following week from the preacher was welcomed. The majority expressed they did not appreciate being called at home the week after their visit.
