On the block in a 2012 auction in Manchester, England: A well-worn Bible was given to Elvis Presley by his Uncle Vester and Aunt Clettes in 1957 for his first Christmas at Graceland. The Bible contained the King’s handwritten notes and underlining of passages he thought important, including “What is a man advantaged if he gain the whole world and lose himself or be cast away.”

The Bible sold for £59,000, or about $94,000, more than double the £25,000 was expected to fetch.
