– Many people came to Jesus home.
What was Jesus doing in the home?
– Jesus preached the word to them.
Who was brought to Jesus? How? Why?
– A paralyzed man was brought to Jesus by opening the roof and set him in front of the Jesus.
Because of the packed of people, they couldn’t pass through so that they open the roof.
What did Jesus tell the man? Why?
– Jesus said “Son, your sins are forgiven.” because he saw the faith in the paralyzed man.
How did the scribes respond to Jesus? Why?
– They doubt in Jesus because only the God can forgive the human sins.
How did Jesus react to the scribes?
– Jesus know what the scribes were thinking then he asked the question “Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.”

– Jesus said “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” then the paralyzed man got up and walked out.

When He had come back to Capernaum several days afterward, it was heard that He was at home.
2 What was Jesus doing in the home?
They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.

Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them.
4 What did Jesus tell the man? Why?
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

Some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

Four people brought a man sick of palsy. They couldn’t get inside to Jesus then they uncovered the roof. When they broken it up,they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay because they healed from Jesus.

Jesus said “Young man, your sins are forgiven” because Jesus saw that these men had great faith.
5. How did the scribes respond to Jesus? Why?
Why does this man say things like that?
He is saying things that are against God. Only God can forgive sins.”

Jesus heard this and said to them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor. It is the sick who need a doctor. I did not come to invite good people. I came to invite sinners.”

Some people came to Jesus and said, “John’s followers and the followers of the Pharisees give up eating. But your followers don’t. Why?”

“When there is a wedding, the friends of the bridegroom are not sad while he is with them. They do not give up eating while the bridegroom is still there. But the time will come when the bridegroom will leave them. Then the friends will be sad and will give up eating.”
When a person sews a patch over a hole on an old coat, he never uses a piece of cloth that is not yet shrunk. If he does, the patch will shrink and pull away from the coat. Then the hole will be worse. Also, no one ever pours new wine into old leather bags for holding wine. If he does, the new wine will break the bags, and the wine will be ruined along with the bags for the wine. People always put new wine into new leather bags.”

Jesus said “You have read what David did when he and those with him were hungry and needed food. 26 It was during the time of Abiathar the high priest. David went into God’s house and ate the bread that was made holy for God. The law of Moses says that only priests may eat that bread. But David also gave some of the bread to those who were with him.”
