Where and When Agriculture started (FINAL) Yohko Iseki

A long time ago, people were hunters and gatherers. They were called hunter and gatherers because often men would go hunt for big game to feed the family and women and children would go gather nuts, berries, and plants. Which meant that people had no settled place. This meant that they had to migrate to follow the animals and had no settled place, like a community.
Later communities started to form and there is no exact place where agriculture started, but communities developed agriculture independently. It is true that agriculture started in many regions of the world because people just planted plants that grew near them. For example, the cultivation of rice started in south-east Asia (New Guinea), corn in the Americas, potatoes in the Andes and many other regions of the world. This is interesting because without the development of agricultural surplus, there would be no specialized labor because everyone’s focus would be to just catch and make food. But because of agricultural surplus, we were able to develop new technology and people exist today. For example, because there was agricultural surplus, other people were able to focus on metallurgy, art, literature, textiles and more jobs. The human population increased because of the agricultural surplus as well. I also know that agriculture started in the Neolithic era. I know that Agriculture started because a long time ago, there was a time period where the earth’s climate got drier so communities had to move to oasis’ and start making their own food instead of hunting and gathering for their own food. The domestication of livestock started around 13,000 years ago. It is true because in Shanidar, which is modern Iraq first domesticated sheep as a food source. I know this because many sheep bones have been found there. Who should care about this topic? Everyone should care because once again, if agriculture did not start, we would not be here and our technology would not be very advanced. This is because, with the start of agriculture, others were able to perform special labor.

Hi Yohko,

Pls kindly see my feedback below for your references.

This is an interesting topic. You said about the communities of agriculture in the history. The people started hunting and got their food for their own family. After that, the people start made their own food according to, it lacks of food supply lead into nowadays technology that the human have been developing the way they grown their tree, harvest grape, fishing, and etc., Good topic. You could also write more specific more details about the technology for example. In order to, we can see more picture about agriculture nowadays.

If you have any question, pls don’t be hesitated to contact me.

Thanks,
