Final Draft : Spartacus

In 2014, I had a chance to watch ones of the best series from HBO was Spartacus. The series was really interesting. The plot was regarding the slave back in 73B.C. Before they were a Spartacus, he was someone who work as a farmer. He had a wife and be a Husband and wife as lovely single family. But one day, he had to go to the war. He had to help their neighbor to fight against Roman. When he returns to his house and stay with his wife. One day, he got his enemy trying to take his wife from him. He also got sold to be a slavery since then. He was sold to the Lentulus Batiatus school in Capua. He was training to fight while he lived there. He learnt quickly with his strength, he become a top of gladiator in the school. After that, Spartacus was a Thracian Gladiator who was the slave uprising war against the Roman empire. The story started from all the gladiator escaped from the gladiatorial training school at Capua along with 70 other gladiators. Moreover, other slaves who ran away joined them as well. The series was getting more serious once initially of Rome who regardless the salve army as a serious force and did not send first-line troops against it. Spartacus’s army defeated the first four forces it confronted. Many more slaves joined them until they believed to have been 90,000-120,000 people. The idea of this series that I really like it is made into a symbol for oppressed people rebelling to overturn their society. But the point of fact, he tried to lead his army to safety and freedom for themselves outside Rome. They never attempted to overthrow Roman society. Furthermore, I enjoyed the fighting between the gladiators, convicts and slaves specially trained to fight and kill one another in the crowds. In the series, the gladiator who was tough and highly skilled in fight, they were sent to the arena on daily basis. I myself can’t imagine about the gladiator in the history how good they were. How could they fight against Rome? It had also had different things that I could observe from the movie. According to, in the movie, the slavery came from different continent. There has different style of how to fight. For example, the Spartacus is Thracian gladiator style. He carried a sica-a curved, short-bladed scimitar and a round buckler. Even though, how good Spartacus was in the battle but he eventually able to break through. The Spartacus was something that I didn’t even know it was exist in the history fighting against Rome. Until, I watched the series. I was curious about it. And I’d like to know the history of them. Who should care about this? Anyone who would like to know once in the history for the slavery fight against the Rome empire. He’s marching his people up and down the Italian peninsula until he was killed in battle in April 71 B.C.

Hi Pardol,
I liked the story of Spartacus and how detailed you are about it. I think it really shows how committed he was as a leader leading the slaves. However, I think you should add how you know this is true and why you know it’s true.
