Alexander The Great 336-323B.C.(Final draft)-Yohko Iseki

Alexander the great was the king of Macedonia. Although some may disagree, in my opinion, Alexander of Macedon, otherwise known as Alexander the Great was the greatest ruler of all time. He was son of King Philip II and Olympia. It was said that he was a student of Aristotle his uncle and that is where he got his education and learn about how to do things. At a very young age, he succeeded his father after he was assassinated and ruled Macedonia. He accomplished many things in life such as conquering Persia and most of the Middle Eastern region. Some other things that he accomplished were winning a battle against Darius winning a battle of the Granicus River against also Darius of Persia he wins Siege of Tyre, attacks Gaza. He also named the lands he conquered Alexandria, a port city located on the Mediterranean Sea in northern Egypt. The story of Alexander the Great is very interesting because although he conquered the Persian Empire he still had a child with the Persian princess. I believe that the story of Alexander and his conquering regions are true because he influence so many other ruler than conquerors that were born after him they wanted to be like him because he was so committed into conquering these regions he was perfect for a ruler because he did whatever he can to expand his Empire. I also believe the story of Alexander the Great’s story is true because there is evidence. Such as coins with Alexander the great’s face engraved in it. And since they have been found, they have been sold for hundreds of dollars if they are still in good condition. Another proof of Alexander the Great’s conquests are the witnesses of Alexander the Great and they wrote about him in their clay tablets which were diaries for them. One person wrote a dietary of Alexander the Great beating Darius so that is another of Alexander the Great’s existence. There are also carved pictures of Alexander the great’s portraits in Egypt to prove his existence. This is related to all human beings right now because without him maybe the rulers that ruled after him would have ruled differently which probably caused our society right now to be different there for without him I probably would not be who I am today and our world would probably not be as it is right now.

Hi Yohko,

I love Alexander the great story as well. You gave a good example that he was exist in history. He expand the victory toward to Persia and defeat darius. In addition, he becomes the great ruler among the people at that time. Reference to the coin and written about him from the history was a great clue to pick up more story from him as well. You also made it short but understandable from what he accomplish in the past. Good job.

Thanks,
