In Greek history, I admire Ancient Greek the most among the history. Ones of my favorite person in the history is Achilles, the hero of Greek. He had unbelievable history in the past. He was the son of the Nereid Thetis and of Peleus, the king of the Myrmidons. When Achilles was born, Thetis tried to make him immortal by dipping him in the river of Styx.

The waters of one Styx in the Aroanian mountains.

Styx is the river where is located in between underworld and it is a deity and a river that forms the boundary between Earth and the Underworld. The only heel part of his body that his mother grab him when she tried to dipping him in the river. That’s only part of his body is mortal and that’s his weakness in his body. I can’t believe that was real in the history. I was wonder that why didn’t he keep the god generation. As of the history, they have made the movie refer from the history nowadays.

My favorite part of Achilles is in the Iliad. The most famous narrative of Achilles. The Homeric cover the few weeks of the decade long war. He withdrawed from the battle according to, he got dishonored by Argamemnon who was the commander of the Achaean. I watched Troy the movie that came out on 2004. This epic portrays the battle between the ancient kingdoms of Troy and Sparta. The plot of the movie was in Troy where was the last city that against Argamemnon. This is the reason why, I like Achilles. I thought, it’s only a movie. I never thought about the movie would refer to Ancient Greek history as well. My favorite part is the Trojans, led by Hector, subsequently push the Greek army back toward the beaches and assault the Greek ships. With the Greek forces on the verge of absolute destruction, Patroclus leads the Myrmidons into the battle, he was wearing Achilles’ armor, but Achilles remains at his camp. Patroclus succeeds in pushing the Trojans back from the beaches, but he is killed by Hector before he can lead a proper assault on the city of Troy. Hector didn’t know the guy who led the army was Patroclus. Because, Achellis taught sword skilled to Patroclus. The way he fight against Hector. It was really similar to Achellis. Because of that, Hector thought that it was him who was fighting with. Regardless, he was Patroclus instead.

Ancient Greek polychromatic pottery painting (dating to c. 300 BC) of Achilles killing the Ethiopian king Memnon, who fought as an ally of the Trojans during the Trojan War.
After Achilles received the news of the death of Patroclus from Antilochus the son of Nestor, Achilles grieves over his beloved companion’s death. His mother Thetis comes to comfort the distraught Achilles. She persuades Hephaestus to make new armour for him, in place of the armour that Patroclus had been wearing, which was taken by Hector. Achilles persuade Hector to fight face to face in battle. Hector already knew that he can’t fight against Achilles. He asked him to treat his body after killing. It’s literally shown that Hector already knew his destiny that he’s going to die. But Achilles tells Hector it is hopeless to expect that of him, declaring that “my rage, my fury would drive me now to hack your flesh away and eat you raw – such agonies you have caused me. Achilles kills Hector and drags his corpse by its heels behind his chariot. The movie shown really clearly about this part of the history. I really like how brave of Achilles fight against Hector for his companion. I myself thought that Achilles was a great warrior who can fight against anyone due to, he is half immortal. With his skill, it’s really hard to find who can fight equal him. Despite, he is immortal but he also have a weakness as well. He eventually has no longer but remain for his work.

The death of Achilles base on the history has different thought. In the movie conclude that Achilles died from an arrow to the heel. The other reference that I did research he was hit by some poisoned arrow while he was scaling the gate of Troy. Achilles remain undefeated on the battlefield in the history. Even though, the death of Achilles is not presented in the Iliad, other sources concur that he was killed near the end of the Trojan War by Paris, who shot him in the heel with an arrow. Why should we care about this? As we can see the history of Greek, Achilles was one of the greatest warriors and heroes in Greek Mythology. He was a major character in the Iliad by Homer where he fought in the Trojan War against the city of Troy. It revealed in the history that Achilles was real. And if it was real, those god among narrative might be real as well. My question is, are those ones of those God still exist recently? It would be awesome if I could see if they are real in the history. I believe Achilles was real. According to, the evident of the history and the witness who saw him in the past. Further more, he obtained the reputation from his own fleet.

Hi Pardol,

I like how detailed you explain the movie you saw about Achelles. I like how you made it
sound kind of like a timeline where you write all the way to his death. I think you can
improve this about explaining a little more about your opinion on if you think this was
true or not.
