         Matilda of Tuscany was born in 1046 AD at north Italy,Her father is Boniface II’s Canossa her mother is a second wife’s Boniface II .Her legacy is a government between Germany and Italy when is Lombart north state and middles of Italy become Carolinggian empire under emperor Charman in the end of century’s 8 .Germanic army try to control Italy. Canossa’s family take care all of the land and give it to emperor Charman. Her dad have a power and control a lot of the land include north Italy ( Reggio, Modena, Mantova, Ferrara and Brescia ) .Her mother’s nephew of emperor Conland II witch mean she involve with Henly III and Henly Iv .

          Even thought Matilda have one older brother she became only one heiress of the family since 1052 her dad and her brother died . it is hard for her to keep all her family heiress. Her mother got marry with Godfrey for keep her family’s heiress and protect her daughter . Seem like the life of marry didn’t goes well .Godfrey have a problem with henry III and they captive her mom and Matilda at Germany since 1598 to 1056 after Henry III died they got freedom . they are going to their hometown at Italy.

      The way that her mother raise her is different than the other lady in that time her mother is smart and strong but still know general skill example do needlework and religious in could  study and about latin language, Italy and France local language. It is also believed that she has skills in military arts. After her appearance in the conflict between the imperial forces and the supporters of the Pope.With independence and confidence Matilda  brought a dysfunctional life for women in the Middle Ages. Her major victory was the assault on Henry’s army at Sobara near Modena in 1084.In the following years, Matilda turned her attention to her administration of her land for the patronage of her religious institution and spiritual life.  She donated a lot of land to the church, and she was also the benefactor of the development of law school, the Bologna ,under canonists such as Irnerius.

       In the last years of her life she spent more and more quiet time and the moment of her withdrawal to the Benedictine monastery of San Benedetto Polirone, which her grandfather founded. Matilda died in 1115. And was buried at Polirone. Her corpse was taken to a burial site at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. In 1635, where her grave in the crossing of the cathedral was marked with a monument by Baroque sculptor Bernini.
